Using Bluetooth Adapter
This comes in paid method, since you have to buy a Bluetooth audio adapter or transmitter for Xbox controller. But once you have the compatible adapter, connecting AirPods for Xbox gaming is easy. First connect the adapter to your Xbox controller. After connecting the adapter, put your AirPods into pairing mode as mentioned in the first two methods. Now press and hold the pairing button on the Adapter and wait until it connects to your AirPods. When the Adapter light stop flashing and it will glow, that means AirPods are connected.
