One of the main attractions of the Nothing Phone 1 is the stock Android experience. And since Nothing has advertised the Nothing OS as a great feature, users had high expectations. But after several comments from users asking for Android 13, Carl Pei said that a product is “more than just its specifications, features and version numbers.” So it didn’t help at all as they promised a better user experience. And since its launch, the Nothing Phone 1 has been in many controversies despite the hype. But after Karl Pei’s reply, Nothing shared an official statement with Android Authority. Here is the official statement. ‘”We are always working hard to improve the Phone 1 user experience. To ensure this, operating system updates will be made available for regular download. In regards to Android 13, this will be launching for Phone 1 users in the first half of 2023. Before releasing, we want to fine tune the software upgrade with Nothing’s hardware. We will be sure to keep you updated with further information.” So Android 13 for Nothing Phone 1 is going to release next year. And the wide window of six months is too long. They must have given at least a certain month or quarter as this is a new and only phone from Nothing. Other OEMs like Samsung, Oppo, and OnePlus have already started testing Android 13 on their premium phones. And early next year these OEMs will start pushing the stable Android 13 update to mid-range and budget phones. And as the Nothing Phone 1 is premium mid-range, we at least expected a committed short timeline. This is definitely bad news as the Nothing Phone 1 has received mostly negative words and the early Android 13 update may have some good news for users. But if there are any changes from Nothing, we will share them with you. Also Check:
