This is not the first time Apple has released a second release candidate for the latest iOS and iPadOS builds. Apple takes this step when there are major bugs or major security flaws. We will talk about the changes later, here’s build information about the new update. The second release candidate is released only for iOS 16.5 and iPadOS 16.5 versions. Both iOS 16.5 RC 2 and iPadOS 16.5 RC 2 come with a new build number 20F66. If public build comes with the same build number, the RC2 is going to be the stable version as well for developers and beta testers. Talking about new features, the second release candidate is just an improvement over the first RC and so it doesn’t bring many changes. The only big change that the second RC brings is the Emergency SOS to iPhone 14 series in Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately, Apple didn’t mention what particular bugs they addressed in this update. Some of the previous bugs like the notification mess in the lock screen still exist. If you are on the iOS 16.5 RC and iPadOS 16.5 RC, you will receive the second release candidate update in Software Update. This should be the last beta build and probably the same as the public build which is expected to release in a few days for everyone. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Also Check:
