The latest iOS 14.5 Beta 3 and iPadOS 14.5 Beta 3 are available for all supported iPhones and iPads respectively. On the second beta, Apple fixes some of the known bugs, but there are still some issues that exist in Beta 2. And hopefully, the third beta fixes most of the bugs. Apple also released macOS Big Sur 11.3 Beta 3 along with iOS 14.5 Beta 3 and iPadOS 14.5 Beta 3. Both iOS and iPadOS updates come with build version 18E5164h. And this time Apple also upgraded the modem firmware for better connectivity. The update weighs around 500MB which can vary a little depending on the iPhone or iPad model.
iOS 14.5 Beta 3 Update – What’s New
As you know the latest update comes with the firmware upgrade, you can expect better connectivity. If you have any issues related to the network then expect better performance in the third beta. Some other features include small changes and bug fixes. Apple re-enables the option to change the default music player on your iPhones. We have shared a guide on this if you want to explore. Also, there are some changes in the ‘Find My’ such as the Items tab in the menu which lets you keep track of daily accessories and other items. You will get a splash screen for changes when you open the Find My app for the first time after the update. In the iOS 14.5 Beta 3 and iPadOS 14.5 Beta 3, SwiftUI multiple sheets are working fine without any issue. iPad Pro 11-inch (1st Gen+) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd Gen+) are now able to connect to external displays using the USB-C digital AV multiport adapter. At first, the update was only available on the developer portal to upgrade via computer. But later Apple releases it over the air and it is available for developers. It should also be available to public beta testers soon. So, if you are a beta tester then make sure to update your iPhone by going to Settings > Software Update and then tap on the download and install button. But in case if you are on the stable iOS 14.4 build, then you have to first install a beta profile to update to the latest iOS or iPadOS beta.
