Along with iOS 14.6 Beta 1 and iPadOS 14.6 Beta 1, Apple also released macOS Big Sur 11.4 Beta 1, tvOS 14.6 Beta 1, watchOS 7.5 Beta 1, and HomePod 14.6 Beta 1. Both iOS 14.6 Beta 1 and iPadOS 14.6 Beta 1 come with build version 18F5046f. We can expect a few beta updates in the new beta iteration as well. iOS 14.6 Beta 1 & iPadOS 14.6 Beta 1 – What’s New
The first change in the iOS 14.6 beta 1 is the updated modem firmware. Apple didn’t update modem firmware for a while, and finally, it is updated in the latest beta. If your device has any network or connectivity issue, then it is more likely to fix in the first beta. You can now directly update iOS and iPadOS devices to the latest Release Candidate without removing the beta profile. After updating to the Release Candidate, you can choose to update to the next available beta or uninstall the profile to remove your device from the beta program. Yes, now you can directly update to iOS 14.6 Beta from iOS 14.5 RC without installing or changing the beta profile. There are a few other changes as well like the ‘Allow Apps to Request to Track’ option is now enabled for everyone. It also hints that soon Apple Podcast subscriptions will be available. There are also some bug fixes you can notice while using the update.

The first iOS 14.6 Beta and iPadOS 14.6 Beta is available for developers and soon it will be available to public beta testers as well (available for public beta testers). For beta testers now it is quite easy to jump into a new iteration beta update. It means if your devices running on the iOS 14.5 RC or iPadOS 14.5 RC, then you can directly update to iOS 14.6 Beta 1. Go to Settings > Software Update and you will see iOS 14.6 on that page. Click on it and then click on Download & Install to get the update. Now that it is easy for beta testers, public users still need to install beta profile if they want to try beta update directly from a public update. It is also possible to update by manually installing IPSW, but I don’t recommend it. So, if you want to try new beta updates, you can install the beta profile with these steps.
