Earlier this week, we shared a comment from a Googler that revealed the Android 16 beta timeline. According to that comment, the first beta was scheduled to arrive this week and has indeed done so. Therefore, we can trust the comment for Beta 2 and Beta 3 schedule as well. The Android 16 Beta is available for eligible devices listed below.
Pixel 6 and 6 Pro Pixel 6a Pixel 7 and 7 Pro Pixel 7a Pixel Fold Pixel Tablet Pixel 8 and 8 Pro Pixel 8a Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9 Pro Fold
The first Android 16 Beta comes with build number BP22.250103.008 and brings January 2025 Security Patch. As you can expect from the first beta, it introduces a bunch of new features such as live updates for notification, support for 3-button navigation, adaptive apps, camera night mode scene detection, support for the Advanced Professional Video, better user privacy protection, and more. The Android 16 Beta is expected to be more stable than developer previews, but there might still be some bugs. If you want to test the Android 16 on your eligible pixel, ensure you know how to deal with bugs or only install if you have a Pixel as a secondary device. Joining the Android 16 beta is a breeze. You can opt-in for beta through Android beta program and the first Android 16 beta will be available via OTA on your device. You can also install factory or OTA images manually. But always take a back up of your data before installing a beta or major update. Also Check:
