Originally published on November 25th 2020, updated the list of Mac M1 supported apps. Apps work on any device based on the operating system and the hardware architecture. And so Apps that run on any operating system may not work on devices with the same OS but with different architecture. The popular example will be Intel and AMD. Some apps don’t work on Intel based Windows PC and some apps don’t work on AMD based Windows PC. Apps that you are using on Intel Macs do not guarantee to run on the Macs with M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max chip. And there will be some apps that do work but you might find laggy. Developers will improve their Apps later to work properly on Apple M1 Macs. But as it is a new chip, it can take some time for developers to tune their apps according to the chip.
