When I first noticed that Chrome is running a lot of processes, I explored why Chrome using so may process at the same time. And at last, I found some reasons that caused multiple processes in Chrome. There are few reasons for this issue and here’s what causes multiple processes in Chrome.
Google Chrome comes with extensions and Plugins support and if you use multiple extensions then it will run all the active extensions in the background. It runs active extensions to provide access to extension and its function without any waiting time. And so the multiple processes that you see in Task Manager also includes the extensions running in the background. Google Chrome is popular because it easily handles multiple tabs without any issues. And to keep backup of all the tabs it keeps a copy of running in the background. It is because to avoid data loss if your browser or computer crashes. You must have used the restore option after crashing.

Google Chrome is a powerful and featured browser which has its own task manager for managing running processes. It is just like the Windows Task Manager but only tracks the process inside the browser. But in the Chrome Task Manager, it shows a description of each process which provides us enough information about the running process.
