After downloading the application for your PC, the next step will be to install it. Yes, it’s an app and you will need to install it like other applications. It would be great if this comes as part of Windows in the future. Transfer the downloaded file to your Windows PC and double-click on it. This will initiate the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions and the app will be installed on your Windows PC.

There is still one step left before you can use the Nearby Share. You need to set it up according to your preference. To start the setup, open the recently installed Nearby Share. This will present the main page of the app. You can select to sign in with your Google account or you can also use it without any account. Also, you can choose to make your device visible to everyone at all times, limited time, hidden, and more. Next comes the Settings where you can set your device name, location where you want to receive files, device visibility, and more. It’s quite easy to set up the Nearby Share on Windows.
