The Google Phone app also comes with call recording features in many regions. And if your phone has Google dialer by default, then you don’t have to worry about Google removing third party apps as the default phone app will still work with the call recording feature. Now that it is available in limited regions, here is a list of all the countries where Google Phone’s App call recording feature is available. Google will take down third party call recording apps because they use Accessibility API to provide call recording features and it is not built for that. Some of the native apps that support call recording are Google Phone, OnePlus Dialer, Mi Dialer, etc. Many OEMs use the Google Phone app as the default phone app on their devices. The call recording feature also depends on the laws and so it is available in limited countries. And this can also be different for devices locked to carriers. As many countries from the list have mandated the consent of both parties before the call recording, Google Phone App notifies both parties that the call is being recorded at the beginning of the call. To check if your Google Phone App is the downloaded one or pre-installed, you can check the Google’s Phone app info. To do that tap and hold the phone app and tap App Info. Now on the App Info page scroll down and check the version. If the version says .downloadable then it’s the downloaded one. If you want to record a call, you just need to tap on Record Call on the ongoing call. Tap stop recording to do as it says. Also, you can enable call recording from the Google Phone App Settings.
