Now the company has began rolling out the MagicOS 9.0 Beta 1 for the first round of devices which include Magic 6 series, Magic 5 series, Magic V3, Vs3, and V2 series foldable smartphones. The first beta is available to select models with version 9.0.0.116 and 9.0.0.120. Since this is a major update, it weighs in GBs, so users are advised to keep 10GB of empty storage for smooth installation.
MagicOS 9.0 First Beta Features
The first beta update introduces users with some AI features such as Knock and Draw a Circle (opens relevant tools and quick action), AI eraser, Real time translation, voice to text, face to face translation, and more. You can check out the changelog below. Smoothness
Long Take animation enables smooth transitions across pages in scenarios such as Notification Centre, Control Centre, media cards, and call notifications. Touch-feedback animation ensures a responsive experience across various interactive scenarios, including the home screen, global search, Notification Centre and Control Centre. Snap animation brings you a comfortable sense of completion in scenarios such as dragging apps from Notification Centre or the home screen to folders, or entering the password interface from the lock screen. The optimised spatial hierarchy animation achieves overall effects’ consistency in scenarios such as entering the multitasking centre. The enhanced animation for parallel operations ensures a smooth start or exit of apps or cards. Optimises system load at startup, enhancing the performance after version upgrades and restarts.
Refreshed system
Refreshed colour schemes and layout design for apps, such as Calendar and Notes, enhance the system’s aesthetics and usability.
HONOR AI
Knock and draw a circle with your knuckle, Magic Portal automatically opens and provides direct access to the needed service. The new Al Eraser can help you intelligently remove the passers-by and other unwanted elements from images with a single tap. Try it out by going to Gallery > Select a photo > Edit > Al Eraser.
Al Office
HONOR Notes can help you with recording, voice-to-text, and real-time translation. Face-to-face translation allows for real-time transcription and translation of conversations, making cross-language communication more convenient. Experience it by going to: Settings > HONOR AI > Face-to-face translation.
More optimisations
Conveniently share personal hotspot via a QR code. Experience it by going to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot > Turn it on > Scan to connect. Set a duration of inactivity for personal hotspot, and it will automatically switch off if this period is exceeded. Experience it by going to Settings > Mobile Network > Personal hotspot > More > Duration. Al Dual-Path Noise Reduction reduces ambient sound, improving solce darity at both ends. Experience it by going to Settings > Accessibility features > Call enhancement > Al noise cancellation. The optimised cellular self-healing solution enhances the internet experience in some scenarios. Three resolution levels (480P/720P/1080P) are available for video quality in screen recordings. Try it out by going to: Settings > Accessibility features > Screen recording > Video quality.
The update is available to users who have signed up for the beta. So if you have signed up for the beta program, you will receive the first beta soon if you haven’t already. Also Honor has started MagicOS 9.0 closed beta recruitment for second set of devices which include Honor Magic Vs2, Honor Magic V Flip, Honor Magic 4, Honor Magic 4 Pro, Honor Magic 4 Ultimate, Honor 200, Honor 200 Pro, and Honor MagicPad 2. So if you have any of these models, you can apply for closed beta. Remember closed beta builds can have major bugs.
