One UI 7 Beta 3: What’s New in One UI 7
The third beta update, One UI 7, for the Galaxy S24 series, was released on January 6, 2024. Along with new features and bug fixes, the update also bumps the security patch for the Galaxy S24 series to the new January 2025 security patch. The beta 3 update weighs around 1277.99 MB.
Brand New Charging Animation
Samsung is planning to make the charging animations on the status bar. When the first beta was released, the charging animation would have a green-colored battery icon and the text “charging” next to it. But now with the third beta of One UI 7, the charging animations and the text are placed inside a small gray-colored pill. When you plug the Galaxy device into a power source, this animation will disappear within a second or two.
Bigger Battery Icon
The bigger battery icon on the lock screen, the AOD screen, and the home screen are now bigger, which makes the percentage more readable. The alignment has now been fixed so that it displays correctly.
Changes to the Now Bar
The Now Bar is a new feature with One UI 7 that shows you Live notifications on your lock screen from certain apps and services. For now, there are only 5 options you can choose to enable or disable the Live notifications, compared to the previous total of 9 options. Here are the following options:

Integrating Good Lock’s Home Up Module Into One UI Home Settings
The popular Good Lock module-Home Up now has all of its settings integrated into the Settings app itself. This makes it easy for you to adjust all your home screen settings on one screen instead of switching between apps.
Revamped Home Screen Settings
Samsung has moved all the home screen settings under a single group. This means all the grid settings are together – home screen grid, app grid, and folder grids. Considering this is the beta version we are talking about, this change may or may not be reflected in the stable One UI 7 update.
New Lock and Unlock Sounds
The unlock and lock sounds for the lock screen have been changed. The new sounds are softer and sound like someone turning a switch on and off. Now, there will be certain people who like it and certain who may dislike it. Depending on user feedback, we might see Samsung’s reasons and make changes or leave it up to the user to customize it.
Switch the Quick Settings Panel to the Left
This is a new option that Samsung has added to make it easy for those who use separate panels for notifications and panels. By default, when you swipe from the left, the notifications panel should show up, and on the right, the Quick Settings panel. When you enable the Quick Settings Panel to the Left toggle, the panels will switch. So when you swipe from the left, you will get access to the Quick Settings and when you swipe from the right, you get access to the Notifications Center.
