Pixel Launcher is the default launcher on Pixel phones. It is a good launcher, but it does not level up with some other third-party launchers like Nova Launcher because of less number of features. Pixel Launcher has all the basic features, and Google is rumored to add some more features to Pixel Launcher with the Android 15 update. As reported by Mishaal Rahman via Android Authority, Pixel Launcher gains boost in animation speed that you will notice while swiping up from an app to jump to the home screen. The animation will be faster and will improve the wallpaper Zoom effect. Widget Recommendation is also getting an upgrade with Android 15. The Widget Recommendation is part of the launcher and it appears on the top when a user open Widget Picker. In Android 15, the recommendation options will be more, and they will be categorized by Type. It’s more aligned based on user usage. Currently, widgets are shown randomly in recommendations. One of the best changes to Pixel Launcher is going to be the ability to easily add widgets to the home screen. To add a widget from the widget picker, currently, users need to drag and drop the widget to the home screen. But in Android 15, there is a new ‘+ Add’ button that users can use to easily add widgets to the home screen. Another change coming to Pixel Launcher is the addition of an icon in the recent apps window to easily open app options like App info, split screen, and pause app. In Android 15, users will find a drop-down icon next to the app icon in the recent apps screen. Tapping on the icon will bring earlier mentioned options. Currently in Android 14 or lower, it is accessible by long tapping on the app’s icon in the recent apps screen.
