Xiaomi plants the major OS upgrade’s OTA with V12.0.1.0.RCOINXM version number. As it is a major OS upgrade, it requires a huge amount of data for sideloading, the build weighs around 2.2GB of size for downloading. I suggest you connect your device to a Wi-Fi network for uninterrupted installation. In case you’ve opted for Xiaomi’s pilot testing program, then you’ll get access to the update very soon, while other users need to wait for a few more days (or weeks in the worst-case scenario).
Android 11 update for Redmi Note 8 India – Changelog
As of now, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the Redmi Note 8 Android 11 rollout for India, but as I said earlier some users have allegedly received the update on their smartphone. Here’s a screenshot shared by a Twitter user (@TechnoAnkit1) and as per the information this build is based on MIUI 12 (not MIUI 12.5). Xiaomi didn’t share a detailed changelog this time.
