And at CES Google showcased new features of Android Auto. The new Android Auto UI ‘CoolWalk’ was in beta since November. But beta access was limited to a few users. And so those who didn’t get a chance to test the new car-friendly UI can now finally experience it. Well, the new update has just started rolling out, so those who haven’t received the new update may have to wait a little longer. Android Auto’s latest update brings Split Screen View which is one of the major highlights of this update. And it comes with a screen adaptation feature, which means its UI fits any type of screen size, be it landscape, portrait, or any other format. So it will help all users as different cars have different dashboard screen sizes. Maps is now closer to the driver’s seat for a better and easier navigation assistant. The media card comes with the Material You theme. And the Quick Launcher allows users to access recent apps faster. Google Assistant provides smart suggestions to act quickly and complete tasks. Smart suggestions include missed call reminders, quick arrival time sharing, and fingertip access to music and podcasts. Google is also making WhatsApp calls possible on Android Auto starting with the latest Samsung and Google phones. Car key sharing is also coming to Samsung phones and Xiaomi phones later this year. And Digital Car Key will support more car brands soon, which is currently available on BMW. The new feature is rolling out but some of its features may not be available now but will roll out soon.
