Along with the latest Windows 11 Insider build, Microsoft is also releasing new updates for camera and media player apps to Insiders starting with the dev channel. The new camera update comes with version 2022.2206.2.0 and media player version 11.2206.30.0. The ISOs of the new preview build are also available to users for installing the update manually.
Notification badging for Widgets
Now talking about new features, the new update brings notification badging for widgets in Taskbar. And when the user clicks on the widget board it will show the new information, notification, or news.
New Search Icon
Microsoft is testing different types of search icon UI on the taskbar. There are three different UI formats. So different devices will receive different layouts. The rollout of these features will be available to limited users at first. Other users will also get these features soon. The Camera and Media Player app updates are rolling out to Insiders in the Dev channel irrespective of the build number. And it will roll out to other channels as well. The new camera update brings QR code and barcode scanning. Whereas the Media Player gets support for CD ripping. There are a few other improvements and bug fixes that come with the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview build 25158. You can check out the full changelog including known issues by heading here. If you’ve joined the dev channel on Windows Insider Preview Program and running on Windows 11, then you’ll receive the latest dev preview build. You can simply head over to Settings > Windows Update > click on Check for Updates. And from there you can install the new build on your PC.
